Application
TypeIVcollagenhasbeenfoundtoplayakeyroleinangiogenesis,neurologicaldiseasesandmetastasis.Collagenfromhumanplacentahasbeenusedtoassessthebioelectriceffectsofquinineonairwayepithelialcells,tostudytheselectivetoxicityofengineeredlentviruslyticpeptidesandinaparticleaggregationassayfortherapiddetectionoffibronectin,fibrinogenandcollagenreceptorsonStaphylococcusaureus.Ithasalsobeenusedinamagnesium-dependent,collagen-bindingassayduringcharacterizationofhumanlungtumor-associatedantigens.
